The Wairarapa

These are some pictures to the Wairarapa from this past weekend. It was a wonderful weekend filled with lots of laughs, and plenty more wine and sunshine.

Check out this gold bike. That was Layla's she borrowed for the trip. It was crazy to ride, even sober!

Alecia was a trooper. She was very sick but demanded she walk up with us and wouldn't be one to lay back.

I'm posing to show that Layla and I are number one with tent pitching. We beat James and Alecia as you can so clearly see.
This is me posing with my "wine tasting attire." It was awesome.
This is the only winery we were able to make on Saturday due to logistics problems. It was real nice b/c the couple let us go for a walk on their grounds, which is really rare. It was a great walk.

This winery had lots of art all around. It was beautiful.
This is the first winery we frequented on Sunday. Notice the large karaft of water. We're still recovering from the day before. James had a hard time of it.

Just another one of the wineries.

We're playing a game of bowling. The girls kicked our butts.

This is me acting real posh.

I may or may not be very drunk at this point. This was the last winery of the weekend.

When we returned to the camp site James had to go on a trek to find his tent.

This is at the end of the trip. On our way back to Wellington. Why do I look so much worse in the picture before?!

Lions Kick Ass

Hey I had an incredible day yesterday. First, I went for a run during the day, which was a kracker of a day. Absolutely beautiful. Not a cloud in the sky, and pretty warm. It's the same today. Awesome.

I decided to challenge myself a bit and run the Korokoro hill. I ran it when I first arrived like 7 months ago and wanted to see if it was any easier. I had to stop just once half way up b/c it was hurting my back running at the angle of the hill. But after that it got easier. By the time I got down the hill I hadn't had enough so I ran along the beach like I usually do. It was about an hour and a half run and a beautiful one at that. At the top of the hill you get some great views of the harbor.

So after that, It was time to drink! I met this guy from Ohio named Roger who arrived the same time as me in February. He and his mate came over and we played some beer pong. That was great. It's been ages. But we had to power hour it, b/c then it was time to go to the Wellington Lions match. I met the group at my work and we were off. Everyone was pretty drunk already. Get to the stadium and up to the Corparate box for me! It was amazing. A GREAT view of the field, and a 3 course dinner. Salmon, Lamb, and a great dessert. By the way, free drinks!

After that we took the train back to the pub, The All Blacks were playing Ozzie for the Bledisoe Cup. Good match, and the AB's won! So that was good. But at that point my attention span was pretty low, so I didn't catch too much of it. I was out by 1am. It was an awesome night. Now it's time for me to go to work! Sucks, on such an awesome afternoon. I wish I was going into town with the rest of my mates for the Wellington Pheonix match... I make it to one soon though. Perhaps a couple weeks...

Nothing New

So nothing new here. As of September 1st, it's officially spring. So that's good. Hope for it getting warmer now. Last weekend was a kracka of a weekend. The weather was really nice and warm. It really felt like spring. The last couple days have been pretty crappy with rain and cold dominating the day.

We have our rugby prize giving this saturday and unfortunately I won't be making it because I' working. I didn't know about it until my schedule game out so I was unable to request off. Sucks.

On Monday I'm going out to an American Football training to see the team which my mate Nic plays for. I think it'll be real interesting to see how these kiwi's do it.

I'm really looking forward to next weekend. I was given tickets to the Wellington Lions vrs Waikato NPC match here in Wellington. But wait, there's more! These are corporate box tickets. I'll be sitting at a "round table" with 9 others with all the food and drink I want. This includes free piss. Yes! Wellington is doing quite well too. Last week they slaughtered the #2 team in the competition - Bay of Plenty. Nice! Waikato has lost all 5 of their games so I doubt they'll pose much of a threat. I'm going with my manager, Dean, and his wife. Dean has been talking about how we're going to go out and I'll have to keep up with him, drink wise. So it's safe to say I'll be wasted out of my tree next weekend. After the NPC match the All Blacks play Australia which will pretty much be the Bledisoe Cup match.

Well that's about all that's going on right now. Very exciting...cheers
