Northern United
This week we played Northern United. The game meant more to the team this week than others b/c a teamate's brother was killed last week. This being said, we still lost the match 20-0. It was rainy the last couple days so the match was almost as muddy as the week before. It's real nice to have showers in the club rooms. First go in fully clothed to take care of the clothes which turn from blue/white to brown. I'm still picking dirt out of my ears even the day after the match.
I only played about 30 minutes when I had a good counter attack then tried a pop kick over the defense. It was then that my hamstring had other ideas and decided it didn't want to play anymore :-( . I slightly pulled it on Tuesday but it didn't give me any problems the rest of the week. I had to leave the match.
It's still giving me a lot of trouble now and the physio reccomended lots of ice and massage. But working on it is a bit of a pain in the bum.

Rugby
This is a post about my last rugby match. We played Lower Hutt Old Boys, who beat us pretty badly last time we played them.
It was really rainy and very much so the muddiest game I've ever played in. It was phenomenal! I got moved to outside center due to lack of numbers and had a blast. We ended up losing 14-5. I received a pass from my inside center with about 3 minutes left and ran it in for a try. If you go to the petone website : petonerugby.com they have pictures from the match in their gallery. There are two of me in the set, and just look how muddy it was. It was awesome, and possibly the funnest match of rugby I've ever played.

Tramping in the Tararua's = Bliss
So I went tramping in the Tararua's Sunday and Monday. It was a rough start after going out the night before in Wellington and only getting an hour of sleep. Nothing like a 7 hour tramp with no rest! Also lugging around a 60 lbs pack didn't make it easy. It went great though and I've never seen a walk so awesome.

The end!
