It's two weeks into our preseason rugby trials and I believe we have one more to go. We've been doing 3 20 minute periods. I've been getting about 40 minutes in and I'm happy with that. I feel I'm really out of shape so this is good. I was weighing about 93 kilos when we began and now I'm at about 90. Still need to get down to about 88 kilos to be at a good rugby weight.
It's been real tough getting to trainings on Tues/Thurs because of the commute involved with my new job. Training begins at 6pm and my bus gets me home in Petone around 6:30. So I'm only making about half the training which is bad for trying to get fit.
On the plus side it feels good to be in a position I feel comfortable in, Fullback, playing with guys I already know. All this in contrast to last year when I was pretty nervous and didn't really know NZ style rugby.
The team I played for last year, the Senior 2nds, got relegated to the Senior 3rd level due to our performance on the field being so shocking. One win all season. They are taking a major proactive approach to teams all across the board, the senior 3rds being no exception, to have everyone playing quality rugby and win matches. They will be putting alot of emphasis on the senior 3rd team and this will probably be the team i'll play for. They've got 2 new coaches and they mean business. I'm very excited about being a part of a winning team. So far the boys in preseason training have great attitudes, far from the crew of the previous season. But ofcourse, it's hard to judge so early.
I'm planning a trip to the States in April. Probably April 17th for a couple weeks and I'm really looking to have a great holiday. Can't wait to get home and see everyone. Fa show

haha...who's everyone? pretty much everyone is gone! well...except CT, and ur family. =(
So what happened to the Sr 3rd team from last year since ya'll were relegated? Didn't they well last year?
Can't wait until you get here. I'll have had just enough time to recover from Ireland to give you a good party. Guest list might be a little small as Heather suggested though....
CT! You are going to Ireland??? You must tell me all about it because I am too in late July-early August!! =)
Yeah Heather. True that. Unfortunately many peeps will be gone. Even Scott, that rat bastard, heading to the land of the thaiz with the slanty eyez. So it'll be a mix of rugby mates, CT, Scurnizzle, family, soccer mates, and C-robs crew I suppose.
About the senior 3rds. Not sure what that's all about really. Think they get relegated, if that's possible. I think it'll be quite different this year with the new coaching staff. They're focusing on quality rugby and team unity on and off the field, which you know was lacking hard last year, and want big commitment from everyone in the club. We'll see if that actually happens, but it feels different attitude wise from the coaches and club leaders than last year.If that makes any sense.
Really looking forward to seeing this new bar you were talking about CT. With all the draft beers. Woo Hoo. What part of Ireland you going to see Chris? Maybe you can meet up with Tom. Hah. Crazy Irish
Oh yeah. I can't believe someone actually commented on this thing. Thanks for that guys.
We'd comment more often if you posted more than once a month ;)
We're going to Dublin in the beginning of April. RJ and his brother are going to visit Stephanie and we're tagging along for the ride. But we'll only be spending half the time with them. I thought about trying to meet up with Tom actually. I think I sent you an email about that a while back...
so true CT! I think actually you and I have been the support team from the beginning on here! lol
Just saw some pictures of you on the Petone website and they even mentioned your name. You're moving up in the club.
Ah! So they DID get a pic of me for the Petone Man. Geez that shit was rough. I've been pretty sick so I haven't done any exercise or rugby training all week. I think our 1st game is in 2 weeks. Better get with it
