Yesterday was our first match, and I wish I could say I was hurting more.
The opposing team, Randwick, was short on players so I was one of the guys picked to play with them. I never got my chance to play first five (flyhalf), and only got my chance at fullback. I only touched the ball about 3 times, and didn't get to do much with it. They played 4 quarters of 20 minutes each. The wind was ridiculous. There must have been gust of 30 mph. Earlier in the day I was told at work by this old lady who went golfing that her friend got blown over by the wind and broke her arm. Yeah, it was pushing me over as well at times.
So fullback wasn't all that fun. I hope I don't stay there b/c first five is much more exciting for me. I think once I start playing for the Senior 2 team I'll be in that first five position and not fullback anyway. We have our next match on Sunday. Then I think we should probably have all the teams sorted out.
I proud to hear that the UL cajuns have swept the board and are now in the playoffs. It's great to hear, but I never doubted you guys.
Cheers

On the bright side you got to play your first rugby game in NZ. I'm sure things will get better once you're playing for your own team. Good luck.
You WILL Start, no DOUBTING IT!
UL is 1 game away from another final4. We wish you were here, but you are doing the dream and you will be rewarded eventually I know it. good luck and keep up that fitness that will be a major decider. Listen to your coaches and soak everything up. You will come back sick good and might wear the EAGLE blue one day. can you imagine the party for that with all the boys heading up to see you represent. I believe you can do it, good luck and enjoy the F out of this.
